FAQ (or what we call MOO-V- Night trivia questions)

As the most experienced outdoor movie company in Chicago, we have had the opportunity to be in many different location and set-ups. Here are some of the most frequent questions, we get asked.

Why should we bother hiring a professional company at all?

Turning your event over to an experienced professional makes your event worry free. MOO-V-Night works with you to be sure your event is managed from the time you book us till we pack up. From assisting you in selecting the right movie, then assisting in managing your budget so you order the right equipment for the event, to showing the movie an even acting as MC for making announcement is all part of what we do

What equipment do you include in your package?

Various Size Cinema Quality Inflatable Movie Screens (wide-screen) High-Definition Projectors Professional Sound System Professional Audio Mixer with microphone(s) Delivery, setup, operation and tear down of equipment by trained event staff Back up equipment Generators for venues without power (extra fee applies)

We require liability insurance at our venue, is that a problem?

MOO-V-Night is fully insured. We are a full-time business and being insured for any unforeseen situation is part of doing business.

Do you offer rear as well as front projection?

Absolutely. In 90% of our jobs, we project from the rear. This allows for us to be out of the way of the audience providing an unobstructed view for your guests. Not to mention – people often come to the back just to see how a movie looks backwards – (not much different, by the way)

How early can the movie begin?

One of the most common questions and simple to answer. Our equipment is the same as you see in movie theatres. While, we can begin before the environment is totally dark, for best enjoyment, we do suggest that we begin when it’s ‘Theater dark” outside.

What are your policies with regard to weather?

Ahhh…the dreaded question. Honestly, we want your event to take place, but sometime Mother Nature is having a bad day. Thus, we have a very flexible attitude. When you book, you get a free rain date, plus if weather is inclement on the day of your event, we will make a mutual decision on what to do. We never intend to make you pay for services that you don’t receive.

How do your screens hold up to wind?

Managing wind is part of the experience we have. We have ties and stakes to ‘batten down the hatches” in every set up. Our screens are tested in windy environments and we know what they can handle. In no case however, would we put your guests at risks by working on a day is that is too windy. We take a conservative approach to public and equipment safety to minimize risks. Interestingly, winds usually die down at sunset, so relax, we’ll manage it.

How far will you travel?
